The Detroit Titans men’s lacrosse program has announced that it will host two summer camps this year. Both camps will be held at Titan Field on the campus of the University of Detroit Mercy. UDM will host it’s first-ever Team Travel camp on June 20-21. The cost of the camp is $1,000.00 per team, which includes a free lunch. The Titans will also host a skills camp; open to all high school students, on July 20-22. The cost for attending is $150.00 per kid, with a free gift provided as well. April 21, 2009 - Oxford Lacrosse Families/Players,
Tonight's canceled game (due to the condition of the field) against Bay City has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 30th at 6:00.
We still need 2 volunteers for next Monday's home game (4-27) for JV ticket sales as well as 2 volunteers for Wednesday, May 20th JV ticket sales. Please let me know if you can help out. You would only be required to help out half of the JV game; first or second half.
We are in desperate need of a score keeper for JV home games!!! All dates are open.
03/082009 - If you are not signed up or payment is not received you will not be able to practice. No exceptions this year. If you do not have your helmet yet, just come dressed with the rest of your pads on. Come dressed to practice inside or outside. Wear good running shoes
02/20/2009 - There is a parent / player meeting on March 2nd @ 6:00 in the LGI room. We will discuss the final details for the upcoming season; schedule, equipment, cost, and player requirements. We will also be kicking off our first fundraising event. For planning purposes here are the preliminary budget numbers:
- Participation fee - $200 due first day of practice, March 9th (you can pay this year with a credit card through the web site for a nominal fee of $6.30) Go to link “Payment”
- Jerseys - the cost for the full set of jerseys (game home, away, & shorts, practice jersey and shorts) is $108. If you are a returning player you do not need to buy new, they are the same as last year. If you need new practice jerseys/shorts go see Coach Edwards and make sure it gets on the order sheet. A new practice penny and short are $14 which is due with the order. For any new players, go see Coach Edwards and try on the jersey and shorts for sizing. The final order needs to go in March 9th to be ready for the first game. $58 due with order. $50 due upon receipt of jersey. You may also make payment for the jerseys with a credit card for the entire amount for a fee of $3.55. If using credit card you will be billed for the entire amount. Go to link “Payment”
- Equipment - Detroit Lacrosse is offering a starter package for $220, which includes everything needed including your helmet. Helmets have to be ordered and take more time, please order as soon as your able If you order the helmet before the March 2nd meeting, the colors are royal blue with athletic gold visor and chin.
The game schedule has been updated; there are 2 games that may be moved... April 1st and May 15th. I will let you know if and when they change.
If you have not signed up yet on the web site please do, I would like to have a complete contact list this year.
We will be a athletic club through the school this year. We will need to follow all requirements of the athletic code and grade policy set by the school and the MHSAA. We also need a physical on file for every player, please have a copy made and bring it to practice.
01/19/2009 - There was a player meeting on 1/15 to discuss the upcoming season. If you missed it, make sure to see Coach Edwards for the handout. Conditioning will start 1/20 for all players that are not in winter sports. Here is the handout. There is a new page with player contact information. (click here to go there). Please fill this out, it will be the master of names, addresses, and emails. If you know if anyone who wants to play but has not been to any of the meetings send them to this website.

11/18/2008 - One good way to get ready for the upcoming season is to either participate in a league or take some training. Here are a couple of opportunities:

11/16/2008 - Are you ready to talk Lacrosse!!! First meeting for the upcoming 2009 season will be held on Monday, November 24th at 7:00 pm in the LGI room at Oxford High School. All interested freshman through seniors boys and their parents, (even if you played last year) attend this first informational meeting. We will have sign up sheets and will go through the basics of what to expect for the upcoming season. If you cannot attend please get a form from Coach Edwards, fill it out with your information and return it to him as soon as possible. You will need your parents email addresses along with work and home phone numbers to complete the forms.
At the meeting, you will also have the opportunity to order Oxford Lacrosse hoodies, short and long sleeve t’shirts, and beanies. Orders and payments must be in by November 28th to insure delivery by Christmas. We will also have decals for sale to show your LAX spirit.
We will be planning a can/bottle drive for January 2nd. Information will be discussed at the meeting.
We have scheduled our Lacrosse Banquet for Wednesday, May 27th at 6:30 p.m. at Addison Oaks Banquet Center. More information will follow when we get closer to the date.
Make sure in the mean time, you are playing catch with a friend; throw the ball against a wall; eat, sleep and breath lacrosse. We want you ready for spring!!!
